His Majesty's First visit to the college (GCIT)

Image
Until now I have been among the students who desired to be the first in line to see and adore the charismatic personality of His Majesty. I would always tussle myself in the crowd to be in the first line (literally to be as close as possible) so that I conceive all the words of HM. The notice of HM's visit during college days always lightened the mood and induced the excitement to my hysterical adrenaline. I would look forward to the audience with HM and made sure that I had a small notepad to jot down HM's speech. The HM's visit always was unprecedented as the speech inspired and motivated me to do better as a student.  I think in a way it was epiphany or realization of being modest and true to ourselves. However, this time when HM visited the college I am no longer a student and I don't have to sweat profusely to get a good place to sit. As a faculty of the college, we get a special privilege to be at the forefront. This time I have all the ambiance left to me to ...

Ignorance vs Negligence

Image
Ignorance is unintentional as a person doesn't have the required knowledge about a subject or task. Ignorance is usually caused by unwillingness or laziness to learn new things. The world has abundant knowledge to be learned by an individual. A person should be abreast of the daily updates if s/he doesn't want to be tagged as ignorant. The classroom lesson or any academic lesson will not suffice the need for knowledge and skills required in the real world. If we become book-warmish and confined ourselves within the four walls of the classroom or library we might become a text-oriented person. We might know all the theories, philosophies and sciences as we have read about it but the big hurdle we might come across is in applying what we know. Knowing is not enough. The person with knowledge should also have skills to apply what s/he knows. In this fast-evolving and rat-racing era a person with both the knowledge and skills is regarded. Both theory and practice should be acq...

Kishuthara- a facade

Image
The outer appearance are deceptive and never to be trusted. The cynical world has created more skeptics. We often land up judging people by their looks, dresses, characteristics or the overall physical appearance. If a person wears a smile we judge him/her as a happy and peaceful person. Likewise if a person is silent and secluded, the person is moody and anti-social. If a girl wears a makeup and hangs out with a "BOY" friends, she is labelled as whore. If a boy has a small and dizzy eye, he is into drugs. If a woman wears flamboyant Kiras and dresses, she is showing off. If a man plays archery, he is not a family man. In an organisation if a sweeper or any subordinates wears exquisite dresses, they are scrutinized and are judged as a people with no working interest. ( In our society sweepers and gardeners are meant for ragged clothes.) . The class division has long faded away but human mind is still divided. The aristocratic still thinks that they are the superior an...

I am not defined by my appearance but by my inner soul. I am not sluggish but a dynamic woman who wakes up with an aim daily. I am not disgraceful but a woman who has proven her worth. I am not aggressive bu...

Experts, once a beginner.

Image
I have always been keen in creating a blog for myself. For me owning a blog where we can share our ideas and feelings was something way beyond my ability. I feared of committing errors. I was conscious about my linguistic ability. I was anxious of what people might say about what I write. Everything about blogging just prettified me. The fear dominated my interest. I delayed what I could have done long before to this day. The eloquent and most followed bloggers was once a beginner. I believe that they also fumbled with words and was equally thoughtful of what they poured out in their write up like I am now.   All the experts was once a beginner. If we want to reach the pinnacles then its never late to take the first step. The first leap is what matters the most as it is unprecedented like any other step. Shunning all my insecurities and setbacks, I take my first step like a toddler walking for the first time consciously fearing to fall. I Have finally created a blog where I ca...
