Ignorance vs Negligence
Ignorance is unintentional as a person doesn't have the required knowledge about a subject or task. Ignorance is usually caused by unwillingness or laziness to learn new things. The world has abundant knowledge to be learned by an individual. A person should be abreast of the daily updates if s/he doesn't want to be tagged as ignorant. The classroom lesson or any academic lesson will not suffice the need for knowledge and skills required in the real world. If we become book-warmish and confined ourselves within the four walls of the classroom or library we might become a text-oriented person. We might know all the theories, philosophies and sciences as we have read about it but the big hurdle we might come across is in applying what we know. Knowing is not enough. The person with knowledge should also have skills to apply what s/he knows.
In this fast-evolving and rat-racing era a person with both the knowledge and skills is regarded. Both theory and practice should be acquired rather than emphasizing on one. If you think that somethings are there which need to be uncovered and explored, shun your laziness and go forward to learn new things. If you do this then the ignorance you have embraced will gradually fade away.
Negligence is intentional, a person blindfolds him/herself and neglect despite having knowledge about the subject or task. A person has all the worldly knowledge but because of his/her attitude, the knowledge is not utilized appropriately. For instance, a person knows that drinking is injurious to health but still he ends up drinking. He is informed about the consequences and side effects of drinking but still continues. This is negligence. Has the knowledge but neglect the aftermath result. Its intentional and deliberate act. An educated person dumping waste at an inappropriate place is not because of ignorance but negligence. The attitude and the old habit should be changed to do away with negligence.
"Ignorance can be rectified by education but negligence is caused by education. "
You ignored a person because you thought that he or she is not there.
You neglect a person knowing that he or she was there.
Its two different things. Knowing and doing. Unknown and the act.
Educate to avoid ignorance and retrospect on your inner soul to be responsible.
